Did your scanner stop working? Mine did, I guess it pays to pay attention. We had a bit of a snow storm last week and as my wife and youngest son went shopping I was curious as to why I could not hear anything on my digital scanner a RadioShack Pro 2096, well Michigan has re-banded and the tower frequencies have all changed. Kinda sneaky, I have not had to programmed this scanner since it was new so it took a bit of searching. I was just glad that it was not broken, of which was my first thought when nothing was coming from the speaker. I had expected to hear lots of slide off's and the like but nothing? Well the scanner app on my phone worked but not the radio? Well thanks to a bit of searching and http://www.radioreference.com/ everything was explained.. It pays to pay attention!

Fixed GTX kinda

Did a partial clone to the GTX that had been modified to take 16 channels from the stock code plug of my other GTX that was ham capable and it can now be read from my version of software. I don't have the extra channels but at least I can now change the frequencies and tones.

Climbed the tower of N8GH yesterday and switched out a bad water filled 900 MHz antenna for a good one.

Motorola GTX error message

The Motorola GTX that has been programed with 15 channels will not work with my Software

900 MHz Antenna

This one is quite a bit lower than the Quagi that is at 40 feet but should allow for more omni direction. Not sure on the model name or number at the moment but will post that soon. I have three more of these 7 footers and 4, 10 footers but those are quite a bit heavier.
